Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the State Government is prepared for unconditional dialogue with the agitating Jats in the State for affirmative, meaningful and sympathetic consideration of the eighteen demands received from them. However, he said that a similar attitude is also expected from the agitators and they should also come forward for talks unconditionally.
Mr Manohar Lal, who was interacting with the media persons at the premises of Vidhan Sabha on the second day of Budget Session here today, said that doors of the State Government are always open for talks and it has never refused to hold dialogue with the agitators. On being asked to comment on the law and order situation in the State, he said that necessary precautionary measures were being taken to maintain proper law and order and also to prevent the reoccurrence of incidents as occured last year. Asked to comment on the adjournment motion on Jat reservation agitation given by the opposition in the ongoing budget session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, the Chief Minister said that all the political parties have unanimously agreed to it. He said that the Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha has fixed time for tomorrow for debate on this matter, barring the issues which were under consideration of the Court,.
In reply to another question, Mr Manohar Lal described media as the fourth pillar of democracy and said that it should always report fearlessly. However, it is also the responsibility of media to apprise the people about the view point of the government, he added.
