GCCBA-50 CHANDIGARH BAGS 5TH POSITION IN NATIONAL FINANCIAL LITERACY CAMPAIGN

UNION MINISTERS PRAKASH JAVADEKAR & RAVI SHANKAR PRASAD CONFERRED AWARDS

 

Government College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA), Chandigarh got 5th position for outstanding performance in National Financial Literacy Campaign organized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The award was conferred by the Human Resource Development Minister, Sh. Prakash Javadekar and Minister of Electronic & Information Technology, Sh. Ravi Shankar Prasad in National Convention on Financial Literacy Campaign recently held in Delhi. Out of 400Best Volunteers, 3 students of the college Ms. Sahi Aggarwal, Mr. Paramjit Singh Hunjan and Mr. Saksham Verma and Principal Mrs. Manjit Kaur were invited to receive the award for outstanding performance in Digital Financial Literacty Campaing. . Ms. Sahi Aggarwal of the college was placed at 5th position for her exceptional performance.

 

Principal of the College Smt. Manjit Kaur said that for supporting the for campaign financial transactions with the motive of less cash society, Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector-50, Chandigarh took part in the campaign. The Volunteers made efforts to make people learn to carry out financial transactions digitally under the guidance and motivation of Nodal Officer, Dr. Bikramjit Kaur.

 

More than 4500 institutions in the country participated in the campaign in which 1089 volunteers were selected. Based on the work done by the volunteers and evaluation by the MHRD team, 20 best institutes were invited at National Convention of VISAKA at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi where GCCBA Chandigarh was ranked 5th out of 20 best institutes.
