TCP WINS STATE’S MOST INNOVATIVE PROJECT AWARD

Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Department (TCP) has been selected for State’s Most Innovative Project Award for the year 2015-16. The committee headed by Chief Secretary Shri V.C. Pharka selected the web-portal and online services project of the department as the most innovative project for citizen friendly services.Director, Town and Country Planning Shri Sandeep Kumar said here today that able guidance of Shri Sudhir Sharma, Urban Development and Town & Country  Planning Minister and determination and hard work of the team of the department to endeavour for transparency and efficiency through ICT intervention had been duly recognized by the state government. He said last two years had seen total transformation of the department to digital and mobile governance. The department had been constantly endeavouring in taking the government services to the door-step of citizens by making available round the clock interface. He added that Himachal Pradesh was the first in country to roll out building planning permission project in entire state. The project which was dedicated to the public by Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh in January, 2016 has several citizen friendly features including online submission, tracking, messaging and sanctions. The department has gone paperless and there is considerable reduction in footfalls in the offices. The project is being now replicated in Municipal Corporations and other Urban Local Bodies of the State.TCP department will receive a citation, memento, additional fund of Rs. 2 lakh and cash prize for this outstanding feat under this Award from the Chief Minister during State level Himachal Day function on 15 April at Chamba.

This year was reckoned for technological transformation of the TCP department from manual to online system.
