Border Security Force (BSF) personnel reported to have successfully seized one packet of contraband suspected to be heroin valuing five crores in international market, in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post M P Fwd, Ex- 77Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.

PRO, Border Security Force, Punjab Frontier , said keeping in view the vulnerability of Border due to high grown wheat crops andheightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border,ShriMukulGoel, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontierhas issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check activities of Anti- National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, DIG Sector BSF Ferozepurdirected Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers during high growth of wheat crops.
He further said on Wednesday at about 1015hrs, during Special search operation carried out by BSF troops in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post M P Fwd, Ex- 77Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepurin between Border Security Fence and International Border, 01 packet of contraband suspected to be heroin (approx. 01Kg) was recovered from fields ahead of Border Security Fence. The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India.
