RAILWAY POLICE ARRESTED THREE THIEVES TARGETTING LONG JOURNEY RAILWAY PASSENGERS

With the arrest of three the staff of PS New Delhi Railway Station has cracked three cases of theft at New Delhi Railway Station. The accused identified as  Mohd. Rashid s/o Mohd. Jamir r/o JhuggiBasti, 2nd Pusta, Purana Gaon, Shastri Park, Delhi, age-23 yrs. Santosh s/o Surender Yadav r/o village-Bhatpara post- Vathana Tihdi distt.- Bhatak, Odissa, age- 22 yrs. and  Rahul s/o Harphool r/o village- Khanpur,post- Khanpur, PS- Bari, district- Dhoulpur, Rajasthan, age- 24 years.

Mr. Parwaiz Ahmed, IPS, DCP, Railway said, Delhi, on 17.04.2017, the complainant Sh. Ramavtar, who works in a private company, came to New Delhi Railway Station to see off his brother for Darbhanga, Bihar in Swatantrata Senani Express train at platform No. 13. When he was accompanying his brother for boarding the train, a person pick-pocketed his purse containing money, ATM card, voter ID and other documents and ran away. He raised an alarm and some persons chased the running person. While running, the thief passed the stolen purse to his accomplice. After a long chase the thief was cornered at PF No. 16. On finding himself surrounded he started hitting his head on wall and started threatening the people. Finding the gathering of people the beat constable HC Chanderbhan quickly read the situation and smartly overpowered that person hitting his head on wall and took control of him. On the statement of the complainant a case FIR No. 342/2017 dt. 18.4.2017 u/s- 379/34 IPC was registered at the police station New Delhi Railway Station. The name of the apprehended person was revealed as Mohd. Rashid s/o Mohd. Jamir r/o Jhuggi Basti, 2nd Pusta, Purana Gaon, Shastri Park, Delhi, age-23 yrs. He was arrested in this case and during his search one Samsung mobile phone was alsorecovered from him. On interrogation accused disclosed that this phone has been stolen on that day itself from New Delhi Railway Station. The owner of the phone Sh. Dharmender Kumar was contacted immediately and on his statement a case FIR No. 345/2017 dt. 19.4.2017 u/s- 379/411 IPC was registered at PS New Delhi Railway Station and the accused Mohd. Rashid was arrested in this case too.

In another incident, a doctor couple was travelling from Vadodara to NewDelhi by Mumbai-Jammu Tavi Express on 17.4.2017 in second A/C coach. Both husband and wife work as doctor at SBKS Medical College Vadodara, Gujarat. On 18.4.2017 around 2:35 A.M. when the train reached at New Delhi Railway Station,Dr. Bhagwati Salgotra woke up and found that the lady hand bag of his wife wasmissing from their seat. The bag was containing one mobile phone, one ladies wrist watch, goggles, Rs. 4000/- cash etc. Dr. Bhagwati started searching the coach and told regarding this fact to the coach attendants. One of the toilets of the coach was found bolted from inside. On finding suspicion the police personnel were informed immediately and the door of the toilet was opened forcefully by police led by ASI Baby. Two persons were found inside the toilet with the stolen lady purse. The names and address of both the persons revealed as (i) Santosh s/o Surender Yadav r/o village-Bhatpara post- Vathana Tihdi distt.- Bhatak, Odissa, age- 22 yrs. and (ii) Rahuls/o Harphool r/o village- Khanpur, post- Khanpur, PS- Bari, district- Dhoulpur,Rajasthan, age- 24 years. All the stolen articles were recovered. On the statement of Dr. Bhagwati a case FIR No. 344/2017 dt. 19.4.2017 u/s- 379/411 IPC was registered at PS New Delhi Railway Station and both the above persons were arrested.During interrogation it was revealed that accused Santosh is previously involved in two criminal cases:  Case FIR No. 128/2008 u/s-399/402 IPC PS New Delhi Railway Station. 2. Case FIR No. 899/2016 u/s- 25/54/59 Arms Act PS New Delhi Railway Station.The investigation of the above cases is in progress to find the other involvements of the above accused persons.
