An award function was held at Multi-Purpose Hall, Police Lines, Sector 26, Chandigarh to recognize the good work done by Civilians and police officials.

On this occasion, police personnel who retired from police services after attaining the age of superannuation were also honored by Sh. Alok Kumar, IPS, DIG/UT, Sh. Eish Singhal, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, UT, Chandigarh. Sh. Roshan Lal, SP/Communication & Law and order along with DSPs and Inspectors and other police officers were also present at the Function. 

The police officers who retired after attaining the age of superannuation are Insp ORP Anil Kumar, Insp ORP Amarjit Singh, ASI ORP Subhash Chand, ASI ORP Rameshwa and HC ORP Pardeep Kumar were honored by the W/DIG/UT with momentums and certificates. The families of retired police officers were also invited on this occasion as a Guest of Honor.

The following police personnel have been rewarded with cash reward Rs. 5,000/- each and Commendation Certificate for their good work and best performances in their assigned duties with utmost devotion and keen interest.

SI Inderpal Singh (Mobile Forensic Team), SI Sewa Singh (WPS), HC Satnam Chand (Photo Section), HC Kanwar Pal (Crime Branch), HC Kuldip Singh (DSP CCIC office), HC (ORP) Bahadur Lal (MHC PS-19), HC Subhash Chand (MHC PS-26), HC Ompal (MHC PS-Maloya), C. Sandeep Yadav (Cyber Computer Operator) C. Jile Singh (EOW).

The following police personnel / Home Guard Volunteers / officials have been rewarded with cash reward Rs. 3,000/- each and Commendation Certificate for their good work and best performances in their assigned duties.

Devinder Kumar (Security Wing), L/C Poonam (IRB), C. Ajay Kumar (IRB), Vol. Rajesh Kumar (PCR Vehicle Echo-21), Vol. Ayyapan (SDPO south office), Vol. Ravinder Parshad (Traffic Lines), Sh. Hukmey Chand, Sr. Asstt. (E-I, Branch)

Apart from above the following Civilians are also rewarded by the DIG/UT with commendation certificate and cash Rs. 5,000/-:- 

Sh. Satpal S/o Sh. Hans Raj R/o # 1104, and Sector 42B, Chandigarh: - He is providing his volunteer services to regulate traffic near Motor Market, Sector 48, Chandigarh in the interest of general public, which is very helpful for police as well as to general public.
Sh. Balwinder Singh R/o Village Balongi, Dashmesh Market, Distt. SAS Nagar, Mohali (PB):- On 03.07.2017 at about 12:30 PM, a school bus met with an accident near poultry farm Chowk. A Case FIR No. 210 dated 03.07.2017 U/S 279, 337 IPC, PS -31 was registered in this regard. Sh. Balwinder Singh was also passing by and acted very promptly, helped the police party in rescue of injured children and lifting them to GMCH-32, Chandigarh for treatment. With his prompt action and help police party also succeeded to arrest the accused.On this occasion Sh. Eish Singhal, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, UT, Chandigarh also planted the saplings at Police Lines, Sector-26, Chandigarh.
