THREE PUNJAB UNIVERSITY PLAYERS SELECTED IN INDIAN BADMINTON TEAM

Three badminton players of Panjab University, Kanwaldeep, Hardik and Kartik have been selected to participate in the World University Games in Taipei from August 19 to 30.

It may be recalled that Panjab University won gold medal in All India Inter-Varsity Badminton Championships under the guidance of Surinder Mahajan this year and out of six men players three are from Panjab University studying in DAV College, Sector 10,, Chandigarh.

NIS qualified Narinder Singh has been nominated as coach of the Indian University team. He had earlier gone to Spain for World University Badminton Championship in 2014.

A preparatory camp was held at Mahrishi Dayanand University of Rohtak from August 3 to 17. Before going the team had met Minister of Human Resources Prakash Javadekar and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore
