HARYANA ALLOWS LEASE HOLDERS AND TENANTS FOR REGISTRATION AT COLLECTOR RATE

The Haryana Government has decided to allow lease-holders and tenants of houses and shops located in areas falling under municipal councils and municipal committees in the state to get themselves registered as owners at collector rate.

Stating this today, the Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs. Kavita Jain, said the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, had approved a proposal to this effect.

This benefit would be extended to those persons who have been allotted shops or houses in municipal councils and municipal committees on lease or rent basis at the rate of less than Rs 500 per month for 20 years or more.

Mrs. Jain said the decision had been taken keeping in view the condition of the tenants and lease-holders, who had been living in constant fear
