BURNING HARYANA: LATHI CHARGE ON PROTESTERS OUTSIDE RYAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, FEW JOURNALISTS ALSO INJURED

After Jat Reservation and rapist Baba Gurmeet Singh verdict's protest , Haryana biggest economic city burning on Sunday as at least  50 people, including nine scribes and photo journalists, were injured when police baton-charged a group of people protesting the brutal murder of a seven-year-old student in Ryan International School Gurugram and demanding the arrest of the school management.A liquor vend near the school was also set on fire.

The police used force to disperse the protesters who were agitating outside the school in Bhondsi in the wake of the murder of class 2 student Pradyuman, who was on Friday found in the washroom with his throat slit."We were protesting peacefully outside the school but police suddenly baton-charged us without any provocation," said a protester.The journalists covering the protest were also injured. "TV journalists Sunil Yadav, Sushil Kumar, and photo journalists Yogesh Kumar and Abhishek were injured and have been admitted to the civil hospital," senior journalist Naveen Panchal told IANS."Yogesh Kumar suffered a fracture in his right hand while Abhishek's left hand was fractured," he said.Senior journalist Mahavir Yadav from a national Hindi daily, and fellow journalists Pawan Sethi, Sanjay Chauhan, Lok Kumar and Dinesh Kumar were also injured.

There is no boundary wall of the school; there is no separate arrangement of toilets for bus drivers and conductors of 40 buses deployed by the school for bringing the students, and windows in the toilet meant for students were found broken. Mr Sharma said on the report of the report of the sub-committee, police action would be taken against the school management and owner of the school mentioned in the FIR. The police have arrested the accused who had killed the child and the charge-sheet would be presented in one week

The journalists were targetted after a senior police officer allegedly said that "all this (protest) was happening due to the media coverage".An assistant commissioner of police and area SHO also threatened the journalists to leave the place.Cameras were also damaged during the police action. Several Press Clubs, Press Associations and social bodies across the state have condemned the police action.Former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda visited the hospital to meet the injured journalists."Attack on media was pre-planned and BJP workers and leaders were behind it. Journalists will not get proper treatment in the hospital because it is also run by the state government," he said.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh and Additional Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya also visited the hospital.A group of angry protestors also set fire to a liquor vend, located less than 50 metres from the school.This came even as Haryana education minister Rambilas Sharma was announcing in a press conference that the licence of the liquor vend has been cancelled.

Meanwhile, Varun Thakur, father of the murdered student, appealed to people not to get violent during the protests."We must protest in a peaceful manner," he said.

Police late on Friday arrested Ashok Kumar, a conductor of a school bus, for allegedly killing the child, but many believe that he was only a scapegoat. Even he has admitted the genious crime, the parents of killed boy, not believes they are demanding CBI enquiry and want justice from Prime Minister. 

In the meantime pointing a finger at the Ryan International School for several flaws in the security of students, the Haryana Education Minister, Prof. Ram Bilas Sharma, said today that managements of all private schools in the state would be made responsible and accountable for taking the students from home to school and back home. Strict action would be taken against any negligence in this regard.Interacting with media persons in Gurugram, he said that guidelines in this regard would be issued to all schools tomorrow.  Referring to the incident at Ryan International School in Gurugram,  Mr Sharma said action would be taken against the school management and owner of the school under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. Investigations are being conducted by the three-member sub-committee formed by the district administration. It has found many flaws in the security of students for which the school management is answerable and a detailed report would be submitted by the sub-committee tomorrow, he said.

“If the parents of the child are still not satisfied, the government would be willing to seek help from any agency. But I feel they will be satisfied when the charge- sheet is presented in the court along with evidences,” he added. The minister said that no leniency would be shown in this case. On the demand of parents, Ryan International School would remain closed on Monday. Liquor shops near the school would be removed all such shops located within 400 meters of all schools in Haryana would also be removed, he added.

RYAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL GURGAON IS ALWAYS IN NEWS FOR WRONG REASONS....BUT YET NOT ANY ACTION BY HARYANA CM. WHY SCHOOL RECOGNITION NOT CANCELLED........ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THEIR VESTED INTEREST OR INDIFFERENT ATTITUDE FOR SUCH BRUTAL KILLING.SIMILARLY FARIDABAD SCHOOL PREMISES USED FOR BOARDING LODGING TRAINING OF PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES MEANS EDUCATION MINISTER IS USELESS BESIDES CM.
