PUNJAB VIGILANCE DSP RAJESH KUMAR PASSES AWAY, OFFICERS CONDOLES

 Rajesh Kumar DSP (50) presently posted in the Flying Squad of Vigilance Bureau, Punjab at Chandigarh today breathed his last while on duty due to severe heart attack. He is survived by two sons and wife.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of Vigilance bureau said Rajesh Kumar joined Police department as probationary ASI in 1990 and due to his honesty and hard work he rose to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police in 2016. He served in various capacities as Investigating Officer and SHO in many Police Stations in district S.A.S. Nagar and Roopnagar.

He joined Vigilance Bureau in 2012 and conducted investigation of many important cases of corruption professionally and arrested many proclaimed offenders of those cases and presently investigating recruitment scam case, corruption case registered against Chief Engineer of GAMADA, Mandi Board, corruption case registered against contractors and senior engineers of Punjab Irrigation Department.

The spokesperson added that Rajesh Kumar was a kind hearted, promising, outstanding, most efficient, knowledgeable and brave police officer with highest standards of integrity. On the basis of outstanding policing achievements and in recognition to his services to Police Department and Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, he was awarded with ‘Director General Police Commendation Disc’ in February 2017, he added.

He informed that all officers of vigilance bureau at headquarter expressed their profound grief and sorrow over his sad demise and prayed to the Almighty to grant strength to the bereaved family members, relatives and friends to bear this huge loss and eternal peace to the departed soul.
