FOUR YEARS RI WITH FINE OF TWO LACS TO THEN ZONAL DIRECTOR, NARCOTICS CONTROL BUREAU, CHANDIGARH IN BRIBERY CASE

The Special Judge, CBI Court, Chandigarh has convicted  Sunil Kumar Sekhri, then Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, Chandigarh and sentenced him to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. Two Lakh in a bribery case on Thursday

CBI had registered a case on 05.09.2009 U/s 7 of P.C. Act, 1988 against Sunil Kumar Sekhri, then Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, Chandigarh on a complaint wherein it was alleged that the said official was demanding Rs.Five lakhs as illegal gratification and threatened the complainant for registration of NDPC case against him.

CBI had laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.Two lakh. After investigation, a chargesheet was filed against the accused. The Trial Court found the accused person guilty and convicted him.
