PETITON AGAINST PUNJAB CABINET MINISTER SIDHU DISPOSED AS INFRUCTOUS DUE TO CLOSURE OF 'KAPIL SHARMA SHOW'

Punjab and Haryana Highcourt  disposed of the PIL against Cabinet Minister, Navjot Sidhu, as infructous, as “Kapil Sharma Show” in which the Minister was appearing, stands closed.

The PIL filed by Advocate H.C. Arora, seeking the issuance of appropriate directions to State of Punjab, and its Chief Minister, to divest Cabinet Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu of the constitutional post of Minister, as he is appearing in a comedy show on Soni TV Show, called “Kapil Sharma Show”, which is against the decorum of the said Constitutional post, besides being violative of the “Code of Conduct for Ministers”, came up for resumed hearing before a Divisional Bench of Punjab and Haryana High Court comprising Justices Ajay Kumar Mittal and Amit Rawal today.

On being informed by the petitioner that “Kapil Sharma Show’ has been discontinued by Soni TV Channel with effect from 2.9.2017, the Bench disposed off the PIL with observation that it has been thus, rendered infructous. The Bench however, made it clear that it is not deciding the Writ Petition on merits.
