Petition filed in Punjab and Haryana Highcourt for directing PPSC to maintain records of questions-answers in interviews to be conducted by it, through video recording or in any other manner:

A writ petition filed by Sandeep Singh of Moga, came up for hearing before a division bench of the HC comprising Justices Ajay Kumar Mittal and Amit Rawal.

The petitioner submitted that the High Court Bench had issued directions to HPSC (Haryana Public Service Commission) in July, 2009, that it must maintain records of questions-answers in interviews to be conducted by it, through video recording or in any other manner: Thus, PPSC must also be issued similar directions.

Petitioner through H.C.Arora, councel, referred to various scams involving recruitment scams in which the PPSC was involved from time to time, including scam by Ravi Sidhu, who was latter convicted, and a latter scam involving recruitment of 312 doctors, where the SIT set up by the HC had concluded large scale bungling, in giving marks for social service and interview, and exchange of SMSs between candidates and some Members of the PPSC. Thus, need for issuing such directions to PPSC for video-recording of interviews, was all the more.

While adjourning the PIL to 30.10.2017 for further arguments, the Highcourt Bench ordered to take the judgment of the earlier division Bench in relation to HPSC, on record.
