HEAVY FOG CLAIMS FOUR LIVES AS TRUCK AND PUNJAB ROADWAYS BUS COLLIDED , CM ANNOUNCED ONE LAC EX-GRATIA GRANTS TO NEXT OF KIN

Four persons reported to be have been died and several injured when a Punjab Roadways Bus collieded with a Truck on Ferozepore-Fazilka Road near village Karikalana on Tuesday morning due to heavy fog. The accident took place when a Punjab Roadways Bus No. PB-05A 8223 Going from Ferozepore to Ganganagar (Rajasthan) collided with a Truck (Trolla) No. PH-07 -4137 while coming from opposite direction.

 The died persons identifiied as  Sudhir Kumar Grover Lecturer,Sudhir Grover, who was working as music teacher at Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Guruharsahai and Arjan Singh, who was working as a teacher at ITI Jalalabad, succumbed to injuries.The other injured persons were identified as Baljinder Singh (Conductor of the bus), Manpreet Kaur, Surinder Kumar, Amritpal Singh, Sukhjinder Singh, Gourav Chopra and Rakesh Kumar who were admitted in different hospitals.  

Rakesh Kumar, who was going to Jalalabad where he was working , said that he had boarded the bus from Ferozepur cantt. “as soon as the bus started its journey, I slept. Suddenly I realized an explosion. When I opened my eyes, I was admitted in the hospital”, said Rakesh.  Police said Arjun Singh S/o Jaswant Singh (Ferozepore), Parmajit Singh Bus Driver Resident of Ferozeshah and Boota Singh Truck Driver Resident of Sunam in Sangrur District died on the spot whereas  Manpreet Kaur Daughter of Kashmir Singh, Surinder Kumar S/o Ram Parkash, Amritpal Singh S/o Late Harpal Singh (Jandwala), Sukhjinder Singh S/oKashmir Singh and Bus Conductor Baljinder Singh were injured and admitted to various hospital in Ferozepore, Faridkot and some private Hospitals. SSP Mr. Bhupinder Singh reached the spot and sent the injured to Hospitals for treatment. 

Meanwhile Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has announced Rs 1 lakh ex-gratia each for the kin of those killed in the tragic collision between a truck and a Punjab Roadways bus in Ferozepur.

Expressing shock and anguish over the tragic bus-truck collision at village Kari Kalan on Ferozepur-Fazilka Road in Ferozepur district as a result of dense fog, Captain Amarinder also directed the district authorities to provide free medical treatment for the injured.

The Chief Minister directed the district civil and police administration to extend all possible help to the family members of the victims, according to an official spokesperson.

Captain Amarinder Singh shared his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for those injured in this mishap. 

In the meantime MLA Guruharsahai Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Ferozepore city MLA Parminder Singh Pinki and Ferozepore Rural MLA Satkar, Zira MLA Kulbir Singh Zira condoles the sad demise of four persons dies in accident and prayes for early recovery of inijured persons.
