PUNJAB VIGILANCE CAUGHT RED HANDED SR. ASSTT. OF SMALL SCALE IND. DEPTT. ACCEPTING BRIBE FROM MALOUT RESIDENT

State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a Senior Assistant Kulwinder Singh red handed while taking bribe of Rs. 8,000. Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Kulwinder Singh Sodhi Senior Assistant posted at Punjab Small Scale Industry department office at Chandigarh was nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs. 8,000 from complainant Lucky Chhabra of Malout, Mukatsar district.

The Complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused Kulwinder Singh was demanding Rs. 13,000 as a bribe to give to appear as witness in a lease transfer case in favour of him. He also informed that he had already paid Rs. 5000 in advance and balance Rs. 8000 to be paid on November 9, 2017. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 8,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ferozepur and further investigation was under progress.
