BSF SEIZES TWO KG CONTRABAND HEROIN FROM AMRITSAR SECTOR

Border Security Force (BSF) personnel successfully seized 02 Packets (weight  approx- 02 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin, valuing 10 crores in international market, in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Burj, Ex -17 Bn BSF, Sector Amritsar.

Spokesman of Punjab Frontier BSF said, keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, harvesting of paddy crops, setting of fog/smog and heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border, Sh Mukul Goel, IPS,Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectorsunder Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti - National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, DIG Sector BSF Amritsar directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/Anti-National Elements.

Spokesman further said on 09 Nov 2017 at about 1610 hrs, during search Border Security Force troops recovered 02 Packets (weight approx. 02 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin near Border Security Fence in the area. The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti- National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India.
