BSF SEIZES ONE KG CONTRABAND HEROIN IN AMRITSAR SECTOR

Border Security Force  (BSF) personnel reported to have successfully seized 01 Packet (weight approx- 01 Kg) of contraband suspected to be heroin, valuing five crores in intewrnational market,  in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Rear Kakkar, Ex -17 Bn BSF, Sector Amritsar.

BSF spokesman said, keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, harvesting of paddy crops, setting of fog/smog and heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border, Sh Mukul Goel, IPS,  Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors  under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check mthe activities of Anti - National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan.

Accordingly, DIG Sector BSF Amritsar directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/Anti-National Elements.

Based on specific information on Monday, a special search operation was carried out by Border Security Force troops in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Rear Kakkar, Ex- 17 Bn BSF, Amritsar Sector between border security fence and International Border. During search at about 1115 hrs, BSF troops recovered 01 Packet (weight approx. 01 Kg) of contraband suspected to be heroin which was buried under soil. The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ AntiNational Elements to smuggle contraband items into India.
