'Adding a new chapter in the history of development of Morni in district Panchkula, Haryana Forests and Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several important projects for the area.

He inaugurated the Nature Museum cum Learning Centre at Morni Fort constructed at a cost of over Rs one crore. Besides, he also inaugurated Maharishi Patanjali Gate of World Herbal Forest being developed in Khedi Bagda, Vishva Aushdhiya Van Bel Vatika in Mandhna and Kamaltas Park in Seelo. He also laid the foundation stone of Lal Muniya Rest House to be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.25 crore.

Addressing the people on this occasion, Rao Narbir Singh described today as an important and historical day for the people of Morni. He said that Morni being a rich source of natural resources, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal is always committed for the development of this area and has fulfilled all the demands related to development of forests and construction of roads on priority basis.

Rao Narbir also visited the newly constructed Nature Museum cum Learning Centre at Morni Fort and went around the exhibition put up there highlighting the adverse effect of climate change and wild life. He said that this Fort has been developed as a centre of excellence for carrying out study on nature. He said that he would take the matter with the Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma so that the students of other parts of the State could also be taken for a special visit to this Centre.

Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj said that there is a need to make aware our young generation about the significance of forest and their conservation. People should take pledge to plant atleast one sapling on important occasions like birth anniversary, marriages, and other social functions, he added.

MLA Kalka Mrs Latika Sharma and Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Dr Padam Prakash Bhojvaid also spoke on this occasion.
