PUNJAB GOVERNOR , CAPTAIN AND RANA KP SINGH CALLS UPON PEOPLE TO FOLLOW LEGACY OF GURU TEG BAHADUR

The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore, Punjab CM Captain Amrinder Singh, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh on Wednesday  exhorted the people to follow the high ideals of secularism, humanism, compassion, tolerance and the spirit of self-sacrifice as preached and practiced by the Ninth Guru Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.

Paying glorious tributes to Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, on his martyrdom day, the Punjab Governor in a message said that this historic day is a solemn occasion to perpetuate ethos of peace, harmony and national integration as propagated by Guru ji.

Shri Badnore said “Guru Teg Bahadur’s saga of supreme sacrifice is not only unique but also un-paralleled in the history of mankind that symbolized the crusade against tyranny and oppression”.

The Governor appealed to the people to observe this day with fervor to rededicate ourselves to serve society especially the poor and downtrodden with dedication and missionary zeal rising above the parochial considerations of caste, colour, creed and religion, which would be a real homage to Guru Teg Bahadur ji".

Meanwhile  Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has exhorted the people to uphold and emulate the high ideals of secularism and humanitarianism embodied by the Ninth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.

In a message on the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, the Chief Minister urged people to imbibe the spirit of self-sacrifice preached and practiced by ‘Hind Di Chaadar’, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, who laid down his life to safeguard the freedom of worship, besides upholding the human and secular values.  

he Bani of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, which is included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, preaches the message of oneness of mankind, universal brotherhood, righteousness, valour and compassion, which need to be followed by one and all, said the Chief Minister.Guru ji’s supreme sacrifice as protector of Dharma was unparalleled in the history of mankind and stands out as an example for humanity, he added.

In the meantime Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana K.P. Singh in his message on the eve of 'Shaheedi Divas' of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib,said that "Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur's martyrdom day is a solemn occasion to remember the glory of his supreme sacrifice who laid down his life to protect right of freedom to worship and preserve human and secular values." He said that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was a selfless, courageous leader who taught all of us to seek strength from truth, worship and knowledge.

Speaker said that Bani of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib preaches oneness of mankind, universal brotherhood, valour, righteousness and compassion. Our real homage to the great Guru Sahib would be to follow his teachings in true spirit and strive to be worthy of his noble legacy," he added.
