The three women lawyers in city has decided to form a society to offer voluntary legal help to female victims of crime in tricity.

Talking to media person here on Saturday, MeenakshiChoudhary , Maninder Kaur and Charanjeet Kaur all lawyers at Punjab and Haryana High Court said that crime against women are on rise at an alarming rate in tricity. What is more ironic that victims especially from common family found it difficult to get timely justice and even reluctant to report the matter due to fear , ignorance of process to get justice  and social obstacles.

Our society will offer free legal assistance to victims right from filing the case and getting final verdict, said MeenakshiChoudhary who is practicing law since 1999 adding the society will not only help to get justice but also work to rehabilitate the victims in their life by providing physical, mental and social support.

Meenakshi further said, in current situation the victim fail to get the desired support due to many of our society fabricated reasons. The victim mostly remain a mute spectator to domestic violence and other various kind of crimes including molestation and even rape due to lack of ignorance of law provisions  and many other apprehensions. In some cases the victims want to report the matter but can’t not due to support and encouragement.”

Our society will help all such victims free of cost and provide all sort of assistance, she asserted.

Through our proposed society we will offer our honorary legal service to ensure justice for victims without any delay. To ensure timely action  and fast course of justice,  we will also take voluntary help and advice from retired judges and other prominent personalities of tricity, said Maninder Kaur who is practicing law from the past 25-yr.

To fight cases of victim, we would encourage more women lawyers from tricity to become part of this initiative and efforts, remarked Charanjeet Kaur who is also a woman Executive Member of Bar Association of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
