BSF SEIZED HEROIN VALUING 10 CRORES IN FEROZEPORE SECTOR

Border Security Force(BSF) Jawans reported to have seized four packets of contrand heroin value about 10 crores in international market from the area ofBorder Out Post (BOP) Dona Delu mal  Ex-29 Battalion, BSF,Ferozepore

BSF spokesman said, keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, harvesting of paddy crops, setting of  fog/smog and heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border, Sh Mukul Goel, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti - National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan.

Accordingly, DIG Sector BSF Ferozepur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/Anti-National Elements.

On 26 Nov 2017 at about 1210 hrs, during search, Border Security Force troops recovered 04 Packets (weight approx.1.800 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin, wrapped in white tape and buried in soil ahead of Border Security Fence in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Dona Telu Mal, Ex-29 Bn BSF, Ferozepur Sector. 

The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India. During the year 2017, BSF seized more than two Quintals heroin from different sectors of BSF in Punjab, valuing billion of Rupees.
