BSF SEIZES 55 KG HEROIN VALUING MILLIONS OF RUPEES IN GURDASPUR SECTOR

Border Security Force (BSF) personnel successfully seized 55 Kgs of contraband suspected to be heroin and two Nos of .32 Revolvers in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Rosse, Ex - 12 Bn BSF, Sector Gurdaspur on Wednesday. The contraband valuing more than 200 crores in international market.

BSF troops on duty noticed some suspicious movement ahead of Border Security Fence in the Area of Responsibility of BOP Rosse, Ex-12 Bn  BSF. Sensing the situation, alert Border Security Force troops, challenged the Pak smugglers who did not pay any heed to the challenges and continued with their aggressive posture. To stop theirfurther misadventure and in self-defence, Border Security Force troops fired upon Pak smugglers but they managed to escape taking advantage of darkness, undulating ground and close proximity of International Boundary from the spot. 

BSF spokesman of Punjab Frontier, BSF at Jalandhar said, keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, setting of Fog / Smog and heightened activitiesof smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border, Sh Mukul Goel, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for  further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti - National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, DIG Sector BSF Gurdaspur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of AntiNational Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/Anti-National Elements.

Spokesman further said on Wednesday  BSF troops on duty noticed some suspicious movement ahead of Border Security Fence in the Area of Responsibility of BOP Rosse, Ex-12 Bn  BSF. Sensing the situation, alert Border Security Force troops, challenged the Pak smugglers who did not pay any heed to the challenges and continued with their aggressive posture. To stop theirfurther misadventure and in self-defence, Border Security Force troops fired upon Pak smugglers but they managed to escape taking advantage of darkness, undulating ground and close proximity of International Boundary from the spot. Immediately, a special search operation was launched during which BSF troops recovered 55 packets (weight approx.- 55 Kgs) of contraband suspected  to be heroin and two Nos. of .32 Revolvers along with a plastic pipe. 4. The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ AntiNational  Elements to smuggle contraband items into India.

During the year 2017, BSF has siezed 257 KG Heroin valuing Billion of Rupees in international market.
