SOUTH KOREAN DELEGATION CALLS ON CHANNI TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT AVENUES TO PUNJABI YOUTH

PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE JOBS TO 10000 PUNJABI YOUTH EVERY YEAR

  The Punjab Government is making all round efforts to provide skill training to the youth of the state and provide them job opportunities at both home and abroad. As part of this initiative a delegation from South Korea today called on the Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister, Punjab, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi. The delegation included Chief of Daora Trading Company of South Korea Seong G. Kim and CEO of Biotrack International Hee Seung Kang.

The minister said that the South Korean delegation has proposed to provide job avenues to the 10000 youth from Punjab annually and for this purpose the delegation members have also proposed opening a centre in the state teaching Korean language. The minister further said that those qualifying level-1 test conducted twice a year by the embassy of South Korea would get 3 year work visa of South Korea.

Mr. Channi also divulged that the proposal was seriously considered in the presence of the senior officers of the State Government and an agreement would soon be inked by the Punjab Government. Disclosing more, the minister said that the State Government is making all round efforts to provide skill training to the youth of the state and provide employment opportunities in the country besides inking accords with the foreign companies to make available job opportunities to them abroad also. Under this plan, the foreign firms too are coming forward to sign agreements to establish skill development centres in Punjab. 

On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. M.P. Singh, Director Technical Education Mr. Praveen Thind, General Manager Punjab Skill Development Mission Mr. Sukhwinder Singh and Proprietor of Biotrack International Mr. Vinod Manchanda were also present.
