RENOVATED INDIA PALACE PROVIDES 'TASTE' OF INDIA IN INDIANAPOLIS

Tastefully renovated at a cost of $1.3 million, the India Palace and Banquest Hall were inaugurated by Indianapolis Mayor Joseph Hogsett in the presence of  a number of prominent businessmen, community leaders and professionals at the 4123 Lafayett Road here on Saturday.

India Palace owner Lakhvir Singh announced free lunch buffet from 11 a.m to 4 p.m on the occasion of the inauguration of India Palace today. "It took one year for renovation of the India Palace and the Banquey Hall. I have now done the job on my part. I have done it with the grace of the Almighty and good wishes of my friends and well wishers."

Mayor Joe Hogsett said "with $1.3 million in renovations, India Palace Restaurant is back and better than ever! Thank you for your investment, and we look forward to your continued success."

Congratulating Mr Lakhvir Singh, prominent community leader and known artist Kanwal Prakash Singh said "food is fabulous, the cook is fabulous. The Banquet Hall is for all your weddings, all your celebrations and all your activities. The renovated Banquest Hall can accommodate  several hundred  persons. It would be 'the place' in Indianapolis for ethnic gathering and celebrations."

KP Singh was today conferred Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa by Butler University before coming to attend the inauguration of India Palace.

Indiana India Business Council President Raju Chinthala said "Congratulations to my good friend Lakhvir Johal for his investment into his business and community. Wish you all the best, Lakhvir Bhai!"

Congratulating Lakhvir Johal, Danish Punjabi singer Anita  Hjorth Lerche, who recently received the best International Artist award at a UK Bhangra gala function in United Kingdom said "new restaurant India Palace (Indianapolis), has been renovated beautifully! Food there is delicious. I enjoyed being at the grand opening today" She also sang a Punjabi song " Aao Ji!!"

Pike Township Trustee Lula M. Patton, Indianapolis International Marketplace Executive Director Mary Clark, Center of Interfaith Cooperation Board member Maninder Singh Walia, Sikhs Political Action Committee founder president Gurinder Singh Khalsa, Marissa McCloud, Baljit Singh Oberoi, Chiranjeev  Oberoi, tennis professional Parveen Kumar, Robbie Singh were present at the grand opening.
