CBI ARRESTS SUB INSPECTOR OF DELHI POLICE FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS. 1.20 LAKH

The Central Bureau of Investigation has today arrested a Sub Inspector of Delhi Police, posted at Police Station Krishna Nagar, Delhi for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.1,20,000/- from the Complainant.

A case was registered under Section 7 of PC Act, 1988 against the accused. It was alleged that the said Sub Inspector had initially demanded a bribe of Rs. 5 lakh from the complainant in lieu of not implicating him in some false extortion case. After negotiation with the complainant, the SI allegedly settled for a bribe of Rs. 2 lakh.

The Sub Inspector had also allegedly pressurized the complainant to withdraw his complaint in Delhi Police. CBI laid a trap and caught the Sub Inspector red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,20,000/- from the Complainant. Searches are being conducted today at the office and residential premises of accused.
