CHANDIGARH POLICE MADE LARGE SCALE ARRANGEMENT ON THE EVE OF NEW YEAR TO CONTROL LAW AND ORDER

*1500 police personnel from police stations, different wings, IRB & PCR have been deployed for law & order duties including 8 DSPs and 38 SHO/Inspectors, 164 NGOs/HCs, 835 constables, 111 lady ORs and 275 Home Guard Volunteers. Apart from above the Police personnel of Traffic wing will also be deployed at drunken driving Nakas and for traffic regulation and traffic rules enforcement.*Pick & Drop facility for the women will be available in order to ensure their safety while reaching home. Special lady police squad and 9 PCR vehicles with lady police will be deployed for this purpose. Girls/women can call on 100/1091 to avail this facility.

Keeping in view of the New Year Eve (Celebrations) of 2018, Chandigarh Police has made large-scale arrangements of law & order and also for the purpose of traffic regulation so that the citizen of Chandigarh can celebrate the New Year without any inconvenience. All Hotels, Clubs, Restaurants, Community Centers, Markets, prominent places will be covered by deployment of maximum police force including lady police force, where the New Year functions will be celebrated. Every location will be under direct supervision of DSPs and Inspectors for the maintenance of law & order.

Pick & Drop facility for the women will be available in order to ensure their safety while reaching home. Special lady police squad and 9 PCR vehicles with lady police will be deployed for this purpose. Girls/women can call on 100/1091 to avail this facility. All organizers of New Year Eve Functions are being advised to depute security guards and take necessary steps to upgrade their security at these functions places.

In view of traffic arrangements, traffic duties will be on the roads on the eve of New Year. General public is requested not to drive under the influence of alcohol and don’t indulge in drinking at public places. It is pertinent to mention here that Chandigarh Traffic Police will also deploy the anti-drunken driving nakas extensively during the 31st December night at various places in the city.

Further, Chandigarh Police appeals to the general public to co-operate with the police force on duty, also requests to park vehicles only in the designated parking lots and not to drink and drive.
