PREVIOUS CONGRESS GOVT. PUSHED STATE TO FINANCIAL DEBT OF 46,500 CRORES: JAI RAM THAKUR

Addressing his first massive public gathering in Municipal Ground at Bilaspur today, Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur blamed previous Congress government for pushing the state to financial debt of around 46,500 crore. He said that it was shameful that the party which ruled for decades in Himachal had done very little in the name of development except borrowings loans and creating financial mismanagement. He said  government would spend every single pie received from the centre government for development of the state and welfare of the people. 

 
The Chief Minister said that he met Union Finance Minister and the Prime Minister, who assured to provide all possible assistance to overcome the debt and to provide bailout package from the centre. Officers have been asked to prepare proposals to overcome the debt, he said adding that the major challenge before him was to steer out the government from financial crisis.

There was no dearth of zeal and enthusiasm, no stone was left unturned to make BJP candidate win, but it was a matter of chance that Shri Randhir Sharma who contested on BJP ticket from Sri Nainadevi constituency lost the elections. Vidhan Sabha will miss Shri Randhir Sharma in the Assembly this time, he said. Though Shri Randhir Sharma lost the elections, he was still a pillar of BJP and will hold say.

He said few independents wished to join the party also but it was due to the people of Himachal Pradesh who gave a complete mandate to BJP that the party was in absolute majority. He also thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the senior Central leadership of BJP at National and State level who contributed and worked together to ensure a massive victory for the BJP. He also praised  efforts of former Chief Ministers of the state Sh. Shanta Kumar and Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal for victory of BJP. The Chief Minister said that he has worked in party cadre at various posts from bottom to top. Today I am a satisfied to see ‘Congress Mukt’ Himachal and it was the Mandi District,  where 9 out of 10 seats were won by BJP and one by an Independent, he said. Sh Jai Ram Thakur said that the government would not follow the revengeful attitude as was the tradition of the previous government. He thanked the people who gathered in numbers to convey their warm blessings. 

Shri J.R. Katwal, MLA Jhanduta urged for an early solution  of Bhakra Dam Oustees. MLA Ghumarwin Shri Rajinder Garg, MLA Bilaspur, Shri Shubhash Thakur also welcomed the Chief Minister  and addressed the gathering thanking the people for bestowing faith in new leadership of BJP. 

Irrigation and Public Health Minister Shri Mahender Singh Thakur, MLA Doon Shri Paramjit Singh Pammi, former MLAs Shri Randhir Sharma,  Shri Rikhi Ram Kaundal, District BJP President Shri Rakesh Gautam, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Trilok Jamwal,  OSD to Chief Minister Shri Mahender Dharmani and senior BJP leaders were also present on the occasion amongst others.

Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur, who is on his first two day tour to Bilaspur and Mandi after assuming the charge of office of Chief Minister was accorded warm welcome enroute Bilaspur at Totu, Boileauganj, Ghannahatti, Halog, Darlaghat on the boundaries of Shimla and Solan districts.

He also addressed the gathering at Ghannahatti where the BJP party workers and office bearers led by the BJP candidate who contested elections from Shimla Rural Assembly constituency Shri Pramod Sharma,  accorded warm welcome to the Chief Minister. Thanking the people for warm welcome the Chief Minister credited his victory to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and National BJP President Shri Amit Shah and said that the motive was to see the BJP in power in state till next ten to 15 years by ensuring equitable development and welfare of the common man.

There was a close contest in Shimla rural however we have to work hard from now onwards  for ensuring Shimla Rural seat under the belt BJP during next elections. He said that the centre Government  has assured for all possible assistance for development. “We are here to serve the people and not to boast of the works unnecessarily”, he said adding that work is worship for us and my government is committed to ensure welfare of the people at large.

We respect  the feelings of people who voted the BJP to power, but I would like  to appeal to  kindly give your  blessings by handing over a single flower stick.

The Chief Minister, on demand of the people of opening Marketing Yard at Ghannahatti and BDO office  asked for submitting a proposal in this regard. He also attended upon the grievances at Hotel Baghal near Darlaghat.  IPH Minister Shri Mahendar Singh Thakur and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal, Mayor Smt. Kusum Sadret and other office bearers of the party were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was given a rousing reception at Namhol in Bilaspur district today. He is on two days tour to Bilaspur and Mandi district.While addressing a well attended gathering at Namhol, he said that the BJP will adopt it's ‘Drishti Patra 2017’ as  policy document of the state government.

While speaking on the occasion he said that the people have given verdict to the BJP and the Central leadership gave responsibility to Shri Jai Ram Thakur, who is a young and experienced leader of the state and five time MLA from Seraj constituency. I believe that Himachal Pradesh will forge ahead with a new vision and new initiatives. He said efforts would be made to promote tourism activities at Bahadurpur and also redress the grievances of Bhakra Dam oustees.
