The International Cricket Council has arranged for a robust Online Media Zone during the upcoming ICC U19 Cricket World Cup to be held in New Zealand from  January 13 to February 3.

The Online Media Zone, which has also been used with success in past ICC tournaments and is now a popular one-stop shop for the global media, will this time also host audio news releases, apart from daily match round-ups, photographs and video highlights, all of which will be available for free editorial use, says ICC press release issued today.

Details of the editorial services that will be available on the Online Media Zone in the lead up to and during the tournament.

Text reports: The ongoing build-up articles, daily round-ups of the warm-up and tournament matches will be distributed to the global media through our usual channels. These round-up bulletins will also be available on the Online Media Zone, while match reports and features will be available on the ICC website

Photographs: The ICC will make available on the Online Media Zone photographs from select warm-up matches as well as 35 out of 48 tournament matches (including all preliminary round matches, all Super League matches and Plate Championship final). The photographs will sit in the Photos section of the Online Media Zone and the media is requested to kindly credit the photos to ICC/Getty Images.

Audio news releases: In a new initiative and to facilitate the radio news channels, daily audio news releases will be made available on the Online Media Zone. Each audio news release is expected to be around four minutes in duration and will include match reports, analysis, soundbites and previews.

Videos: The ICC will make available video highlights packages, each expected to be around 90 seconds of duration, from all the non-broadcast matches. For the knock-out Super League matches, the ICC will provide post-match interviews of the captains and/or star performers. These videos will be available in the Videos section of the Online Media Zone.

Media Guide: An electronic version of the media guide will be available in the Resources section of the Online Media Zone before the start of the tournament. The guide will provide journalists with all basic facts about the tournament, venues, brief profiles of players and officials. The Resources section is also the home to the tournament playing conditions.
