HARYANA VIGILANCE ARRESTED FOUR INCLUDING EXCISE INSPECTOR ACCEPTING ILLIGAL GRATIFICATION

Following the zero tolerance policy of the State Government, the Haryana Police has arrested four accused including an Inspector of Excise and Taxation Department, Junior Engineer of Power Utilities, SPO of Police Station Bhiwani City and a resident of Sonipat, for taking bribe of Rs 24,800 in lieu of allowing an overloaded truck to pass through a check post in Bhiwani.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that a truck driver had made a complaint to the police that overloaded trucks were being allowed to pass by the officers posted at the check post in lieu of money. Following the information, the police raided the check post where overloaded trucks were checked.

He said that the accused included Amar Singh, Inspector of Excise and Taxation Department, Rajbir, Junior Engineer of Power Utilities, Pawan, SPO of Police Station Bhiwani City and Satyanarayan, a resident of Sonipat. He said that the accused Amar Singh was arrested red-handed with Rs 6,500, Rajbir with Rs 10,800, Pawan with Rs 3,000 and Satyanarayan with Rs 4,500.
