HARYANA VARSITY PEREDICTS RAINS, THUNDER SHOWERS, HAILSTORM AND FOGS IN ISOLATES PLACES ON JANUARY 25

The Integrated Agromet Advisory Service Unit of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar has predicted possibilities of rain and thunder shower at many places and hailstorm at isolated places up to January 24 and thereafter dry weather and dense to very dense fog at isolated places after January 25.

While stating this today, a spokesman of the University said that the maximum temperature would be between 20 and 23 degrees Celsius and minimum between four and seven degrees Celsius. The average wind speed would range from four to nine kilometres per hour.

He said that farmers are advised to withhold the irrigation up to January 24thereafter apply irrigation to wheat crop, as recommended, on 45 and 65 days interval and remove weeds. Due to possibilities of variable weather, farmers are advised to withhold the spray of weedicides up to January 24Due to possibility of variable weather and rain or thunder shower, farmers are advised to withhold applying irrigation and chemical spray insecticides on mustard crop up to January 24.

Farmers are also advised to withhold the irrigation up to January 24 to the vegetable crops and young fruit plants to protect them from cold or ground frost besides wrapping the young fruit plants. They are advised to cut the Berseem and fodder crop as per the requirement.

For livestock management, farmers have been advised to keep their animals under sheds during night hours for protection from cold wave or low temperature, and during day time, keep them outside the shed after sunrise. They are also advised to provide 50 grams of Iodized salt and 50 to 100 grams mineral mixture to animals daily with feed and fodder to keep them healthy.
