A team of IGIS, Crime Branch has arrested a Nigerian national namely Chidi Ibekwe (aged 25 years) r/o Ublagu,Engua, Nigeria, presently residing in Phase-5, Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar from Dwarka area and recovered a total of 110 gms cocaine from his possession. The accused did not have any valid Visa/passport to stay in India. The estimated value of the seized cocaine in international market is about Rs. 20 lakhs.

Mr. BhishamSingh, DCP, said  acting upon a tip off received by SI Arvind Ahlawat, a team of IGIS, Crime Branch, Dwarka under supervision of ACP Aditya Gautam led by Insp. Sunil Jain comprising SI Arvind Ahlawat, ASIs Shreom, Kuldeep Singh, Rajender Prasad, Santraj Singh and Const. Om Prakash conducted a raid near Cremation Ground, Sector-18, Dwarka and the accused Chidi Ibekwe @Prince was apprehended after a chase on foot by SI Arvind Ahlawat on 17.01.2018 at about 2:45 pm. On search total 110 gms cocaine was recovered from his possession. The accused could not produce any valid Visa/passport to stay in India. Hence, a case under appropriate sections of law was registered and the accused was arrested.

The accused Chidi Ibekwe @ Prince came to India about two years ago on work visa and started residing in Uttam Nagar. He began a business of importing Nigerian fish and after some time, came in contact with a Ugandan lady and married her. Later,he came in contact with another Nigerian national who lured him into drug trafficking to make quick money.

After that the accused Chidi Ibekwe @ Prince started supplying cocaine in various parts of Delhi and Gurugram on instructions of John @ William to his various contacts. On 17.01.2018, he had come to supply cocaine to one of his contacts in Dwarka, where he was arrested by Crime Branch. Investigation of the case is in progress. Efforts are being made to arrest other associates of the accused.
