The Central Bureau of Investigation  (CBI) on Thursday filed a chargesheet in the Court of Special Judicial Magistrate, CBI Cases, Panchkula (Haryana) against then Chief Gurmeet Singh @ Ram Rahim Insaan @ Gurmeet Ram Rahim,  Dr. Pankaj Garg  AND  Dr. M.P. Singh based at Sirsa (Haryana)U/s 120-B of IPC r/w 326, 417 & 506 of IPC and substantive offences thereof in a case related to alleged castrations of certain devotees/residents.

CBI had registered a case on 07.01.2015 U/s 120-B, 326, 417 & 506 of IPC against Chief/Head of a religious organisation (Dera) based at Sirsa (Haryana) and others relating to alleged castration of several devotees/residents of said religious organisation on the orders of the Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court.

A Civil Writ Petition No.13395 was filed in the High Court in 2012 by a follower of said religious organisation at Sirsa demanding CBI inquiry and compensation for his castration in said place in the year 2000. The petitioner alleged that around 400 male devotees, including himself, belonging to Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan etc. were castrated at that place under the false claim made by the said Chief/Head of religious organisation that castration would lead to realization of God through him and thus they were emasculated through surgeries done at the behest of the Chief/Head of said organisation, as alleged.Further investigation in the case is continuing u/s 173(8) of Cr.P.C with respect to remaining devotees who were allegedly castrated.
