BSF ARRESTED PAK SMUGGLER AFTER EXCHANGE OF FIRE, NINE KG. HEROIN VALUING 45 CRORES , ARMS AND AMMUNITION FROM ABOHAR SECTOR

Border Security Force (BSF) reported to have successfully apprehended one  Pak smuggler along with 01 Pistol (7.63 MM), 02 Magazines, 07 live rounds and 08 Packets (approx-9.1 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be Heroin valuing 45 crores in internation market,  in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post (BOP) Jagannath, Ex-169 Bn BSF, Sector Abohar on Saturday morning after exchange of fire.

BSF spokesman from Punjab Frontier BSF, said keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, setting of Fog / Smog, growing wheat crops and heightened activities of smugglers / Anti- National Elements of border, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued  operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti-National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan.

Some suspicious movement of Pak Smugglers ahead of Border Security Fence and became alert. When Pak smugglers approached near Border Security Fence with intention to carry out smuggling, own troops challenged them to stop but the Pak smugglers did not pay any heed and started fire on BSF troops with result troops retaliated with fire. In exchange of fire, one Pak smuggler got hit and sustained bullet injuries on right leg and the other smuggler managed to escape towards Pak side taking advantage of darkness, for and cover of wheat crops.

Accordingly, DIG, Sector BSF Abohar directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the
attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers /
Anti-National Elements.

Spokesman further said on Saturday at about 2330 hrs ambush of Border Out Post Jagannath, Ex-169 Bn BSF, Sector Abohar noticed some suspicious movement of Pak Smugglers ahead of Border Security Fence and became alert. When Pak smugglers approached near Border Security Fence with intention to carry out smuggling, own troops challenged them to stop but the Pak smugglers did not pay any heed and started fire on BSF troops.

 Hence, to stop their further misadventure and in self-defence, BSF troops retaliated with fire. In exchange of fire, one Pak smuggler got hit and sustained bullet injuries on right leg and the other smuggler managed to escape towards Pak side taking advantage of darkness, for and cover of wheat crops. During search BSF troops apprehended one injured Pak smuggler along with 01 Pistol (7.63 MM), 02 Magazines, 07 live rounds and 08 Packets (approx-9.1 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin from the spot between International Boundary and Border Security Fence. Further observed that dead body of another smuggler who was hit by our fire during ambush and had crossed back the IB injured, was being taken away by Pak Ranger in the morning. The enhanced vigil of BSF has once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of Arms / Amn into India.
