GOOD WORK BY DELHI POLICE PCR: A WOMAN GAVE BIRTH TO A BABY IN A PCR VAN.

In the intervening night of 11-12 February 2018 at 0050 hrs a call was received at PA-100 requesting for an ambulance. Th ecall was transmitted to nearby MPV (Cristal-43).

Mr. Devender Arya, IPS Dy. Commissioner of Police Operations & Comn, said on receiving the call the MPV reached the caller within 3 minutes and found that one Mrs Rachna, age 21 years, R/o Geetanjali Enclave, Near Jharoda drain was in acute labour pain and needs to bes hifted to a hospital. They were waiting for an ambulance.

As the ambulance has not arrived at that time, the staff deployed in MPV Cristal-43 (ASI Anand Pal,and HC (Dvr) Badan Singh) decided to take the pregnant lady to a nearby hospital in the PCR van itself due to emergency. Without wasting time the pregnant lady was taken to hospital with the help of a social worker of Asha Foundations and two female relatives of the pregnant lady.

On the way to hospital at 1.15 AM thelady delivered her baby in the PCR Van. The mother and neonate baby were taken and admitted to Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital by the MPV staff.
