CHANDIGARH CRIME BRANCH POLICE ARRESTED THREE VEHICLE LIFTERS, FEW CASES OF TRICITY POLICE STATIONS SOLVED

Anti Homicide, Burglary and other Heinous Crimes Cell of Crime Branch, UT/Chandigarh has succeeded in arresting three accused persons namely Sukhwinder Singh @ Sukha s/o Som Dutta r/o H.No.1798, Adarsh Nagar, Naya Gaon, Mohali, Raj Kumar s/o Babu Ram r/o H.No. 1835, Adarsh Nagar, Naya Gaon, Mohali, Punjab and Sagar Masih s/o Sh. Munna Dass r/o H.No. 159, Shivalik Vihar, Zirakpur, Mohali, Punjab and with their arrest eight (08) cases of vehicle theft have been worked out.

During interrogation, they disclosed that they have stolen number of vehicles from the different part of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. On 15.02.2018, upon their disclosure statement, all accused were produced before the Hon’ble District Court, Sector-43, Chandigarh and obtained 02 days police custody remand for further investigation.

On 14.02.2018, on a tip of, a team consisting Inspector Dalbir Singh, SI Shiv Charan and other officials of Anti Homicide, Burglary and other Heinous Crimes Cell of Crime Branch, Sector-11, Chandigarh under the close supervision of DSP/Crime laid a naka near Small Chowk, Sector-11, Chandigarh. During checking, the team apprehended above said accused persons alongwith a Motor Cycle (triple riding) bearing registration No.PB65-M-1981, make-Royal Enfield while they were coming from Sector-11, Market side. On further checking, the registration number of the said vehicle found fake and the original number found HR22-K-9888. The said Motor Cycle found to be stolen vide FIR No. 334 dated 14.11.2017 u/s 379,411, 473 IPC, PS-11, Chandigarh. All the three accused were arrested in the said case.

During interrogation, they disclosed that they have stolen number of vehicles from the different part of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. On 15.02.2018, upon their disclosure statement, all accused were produced before the Hon’ble District Court, Sector-43, Chandigarh and obtained 02 days police custody remand for further investigation.

During the course of further investigation, 08 stolen vehicles (01 four wheeler and 07 two wheelers) have been recovered at their instance which led to solving of 08 cases of vehicle theft registered with different police stations of the tri-city . 

On the basis of disclosure statement suffered by accused persons 01 Four Wheeler Vehicle i.e. Willy Jeep and 03 Two Wheelers i.e. 02 Duke KTM Motor Cycles and 01 Splender Motor Cycle were recovered which were taken in police possession u/s 102 Cr.P.C. During the course of investigation, these vehicles found stolen in the cases registered at Mohali & Panchkula.

With the arrest of the accused police solved the cases regisered  in Naya Gaon,Maloya, Sector 11, Sector 34, Sector 14 Panchkula, Chandi Mandir.

Accused Sukhwinder Singh @ Sukha use to steal Royal Enfield Vehicles for joy rides and to impress his friends. In order to fulfil his desires, he took the help of his associates for stealing the two wheeler vehicles. Sukhwinder  (19) belongs to  Nayagaon Adarsh Nagar and working as cook The other accused RajKumar also belongs to Naya Gaon Adarsh Nagar and working as private conductor. The third accused  Sagar Mashi S/o Munna Dass, aged 18 years resides in Shivalik Vihar, Zirakpur and was working in a stationary shop.

During the course of investigation, they confessed that they had also stolen two motor cycles make Royal Enfield and Splender in the area of PS-39 and PS-IA, UT/Chandigarh. After record verification, it came to light that the same were stolen in FIR No. 316 dated 31.07.2017 u/s 379,411 IPC, PS-39, Chandigarh and FIR No. 209 dated 26.07.2017 dated 14.01.2017 u/s 379, 411 IPC, PS-IA, Chandigarh. Today i.e. 17.02.2018, accused produced before the court and obtained 02 days police remand to recover the stolen vehicles. The investigation is being conducted to recover the remaining stolen vehicles and more stolen vehicles recovery likely to be effected from the accused during the police remand.
