BSF AND CIA IN A JOINT OPERATION SEIZED ONE KG HEROIN FROM FEROZEPORE SECTOR

BSF and CIA (Counter Intelligence Agency) erozepur, Punjab Police successfully seized 01 Packet (weight approx.01 Kg) of contraband suspected to be heroin alongwith 01 Pak SIM in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Basti Ram Lal, Ex-77 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur on Wednesday. The Heroin valuing worth Rs. 5 Crores in international market.

Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, growing wheat crops and heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border, Shri Mukul Goel, IPS, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti - National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, Deputy Inspector General, Sector BSF Ferozepur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/ Anti-National Elements.

BSF spokesman said, on Wednesday  based on specific information, a special joint search operation was carried out by Border Security Force and CIA (Counter Intelligence Agency) Ferozepur, Punjab Police in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Basti Ram Lal, Ex-77 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. During search, at about 1830 hrs, BSF troops recovered 01 Packet (weight approx. 01 Kg) of contraband suspected to be heroin alongwith 01 Pak SIM Card which was buried in soil in the field between International Boundary and Border Security Fence. 4. The enhanced vigil of BSF and Punjab Police has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India.
