Extending Holi gift to Angnawari Workers and Helpers, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal on Thursday announced to link their wages with wholesale price index which will regularly increase their wages in future. Besides this, he also announced to categorize services of Anganawari Workers into semi skilled and skilled.

While stating this here today, Principal Secretary, Woman and Child Development Department, Dr. Raja Sekhar Vundru said that Chief Minister had made these announcements in a meeting with representatives of Anganwari Karamchari Sangh, Anganwari Karyakarta Sahayika Union and Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh here today. Haryana is the first state in the Country to implement these benefits, he added.

Announcing to withdraw their strike, State General Secretary, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, Mr Hanuman Godara, State President, Anganwari Karyakarta Sahayika Union, Mrs Bimla Jain and State President, Anganwari Karamchari Sangh, Mrs Shashi Bhaskar thanked the Chief Minister for acceptance of their demand and added that government has given holi gift to the Anganwari workers and helpers.

Anganwari Karyakarta Sahayika Union’s General Secretary, Mrs Pushpa Dalal, State Vice President, Ishwari Singh Rathi, Mr R.K. Nagar and Anganwari Karamchari Sangh’s General Secretary Mrs Sunita Dhiman, Mr Baljit Singh Sandhu, Sheela Mohan, Kaushlaya Chahal, Santosh Saroha were also present on this occasion.

The Anganwari workers having services of upto 10 years would get wages of Rs10,286 per month on the pattern of semi skilled workers. The wages of Anganwari workers working for more than 10 years would get monthly wages of Rs11,429 equal to skilled workers. Wages of Anganwari helpers would be increased to Rs 5,715 per month. All these hikes would be effective from February 1, 2018.

Mr Vundru said that categorization of services of Anganwari workers will help them to receive all such benefits of Provident Fund and health services. The government also added the linking of the wages with wholesale price index which will regularly increase their wages.

He said that rest of the demands of Anganwari workers will be looked into sympathetically and brought to the notice of the government for appropriate action.
