Taking a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira for issuing statements at the drop of a hat, Congress legislators advised him to first set his own house in order before commenting on the functioning of the government.

“When Khaira should be introspecting about the decimation of his party, a fact admitted by Manish Sisodia, he was trying to poke his nose elsewhere”, Congress leaders observed in a statement issued here today.

Congress legislators Harminder Singh Gill, Ramanjit Singh Sikki and Bawa Henry pointed out that recently Manish Sisodia had asked the state leadership to work on the ground instead of resorting to armchair arguments and statements and the reference was towards Khaira. They said, Khaira was now trying to deflect the attention from his own failures.

They criticised Khaira for trying to find fault in everything that the government does. They said, instead of appreciating the daring steps taken by the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh in curbing the illegal sand mining, Khaira was resorting to his characteristic fault finding antics.

The Congress leaders reminded Khaira that not only had the government acted firmly against the illegal sand mining, but had also raised the revenue collection from a mere Rs 40 crores to over Rs 1000 crores. “But Khaira has his own agenda and interests which prevent him from seeing the reality”, they remarked.

The MLAs ridicules Khaira’s charges of the Congress government having any understanding with the Akalis. They reminded Khaira that he himself used to say that the cases filed against Capt Amarinder were out of political vendetta and naturally these would fall flat in the court.

“But with change of party and loyalty, Khaira’s facts and opinions also seem to have changed”, they remarked.
