INDIANA CELEBERATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY, DECIDES TO CELEBERATE EVERY YEAR ON MARCH 8 TO RESPECT WOMEN

The Accenture International Women's Day was celebrated at the Indiana Statehouse here on Friday. Indiana Governor Eric J Holcomb proclaimed March 8, 2018 as International Women's Day in the state of Indiana and invited all citizens to duly note this occasion.

The theme of the Accenture International Women's Day 2018 was "Getting To Equal" and promotes a culture of equalify for women in work place, says the Proclamation.

A number of speakers, mostly women, spoke on the occasion. The program began with welcome address by Office Managing Director-Indianapolis, Accenture Jeff Wilkinson.

Chief Diversity Officer, Eli Lilly and Company Joy Fitzgerald spoke on 'Women of Color and Equality and Equality. Senior HR Managing Director, Acenture, Kristen Richardson dealt on 'Creating a Culture of Equalitry. Health Policy Director, Eli Lilly and Company Dorothy Bennett Hoffman explained United Way of Central Indiana 100 Years Celebration.

Moderated by Senior Manager Accenture Rupal Thakker Thanawala a Panel Discussion: Getting to Equal followed. The panelists were Elaine Bedal, President, Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Enrique Conterno, Senior Vice President, Eli Lilly and Company and President Lilly Diabetes and Lilly USA, Abby Merchant, Vice-president, Sales Effectiveness, Anthem and Donna Wilkinson, Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, Pacers Sports and Entertainment.

After the panel discussion Karin Sarratt spoke on "be yourself. Everyone Else is Already Taken. Then came the Proclamation, declaring March 8, 2018 as International Women's Day on behalf of Governor Eric Holcomb. A copy of the presentation was received by Jeff Wilkinson and Rupal Thanawala.

Rupal Thanawala said "International Women’s Day conference gave me and many individuals an opportunity to rethink about what it means to be equal and why do we still have to talk about it. Is it even harder for women of color or a working mother? Are we engaging men in the conversations early on? What it means to start a new business for a women in this economy? Are still a number? It was a powerful and engaging conversation. Over 300 people joined us and many shared their Getting To Equal quotes. I am so thankful to my amazing Accenture team, staff of Statehouse and outstanding speakers.
