BSF SEIZES 15 KG HEROIN VALUING 75 CRORES IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF FEROZEPORE SECTOR, ONE SMUGGLER WITH PISTOL ARRESTED

Border Security Force (BSF) troops successfully reported to have seized 15 KG contraband suspected to be Heroin from different areas of Ferozepore Sector, valuing over 75 crores in international market and apprehended 01 Indian smuggler along with 01 Pistol (7.65 MM), 01 Magazine, 25 live rounds in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post  (BOP) Khalra Barrier, Ex-87 Bn BSF, SectorFerozepur.

BSF troops  and Special Task Force (STF) from different Border Out post ini Ferozepore Sector seized more than 15 kg. heroin valuing 75 crores in intewrnational market, seized on Wednesday. At about 0305 hrs, Border Security Troops challenged them to stop but Pak smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of  grown wheat crop and darkness while Indian smuggler tried to escape and hid in the fields on Indian side. BSF troops immediately cordoned off the area and managed to apprehend Indian smuggler namely Balbir Singh s/o Sohan Singh, r/o Khalsa Nagar, Tarn Taran Road, Kot Meet Singh, Amritsar. Meanwhile STF and BSF in a joint operations also huge quntity of heroin in Ferozepore Sector.

 

Meanwhile BSF)troops successfully seized two kg.contraband suspected to be heroin in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Shameke, Ex-105 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. Similarly, in a joint search operation troops of Border Security Force and Special Task Force, Amritsar, Punjab Police successfully seized 04 Packets (weight approx.04 Kg) of contraband suspected to be heroin in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Kulwant, Ex77 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.

BSF spokesperson , Punjab Frontier, said keeping in view the vulnerability of Border, grown wheat crops and heightened activities of smugglers/ Anti-National Elements on border, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check the activities of Anti - National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan.

Accordingly, Deputy Inspector General, Sector BSF Ferozepur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/Anti-National Elements.

Spokesman further said Wednesday morning  Border Security Force troops on duty noticed some suspicious  movement ahead of Border Security Fence in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Khalra Barrier, Ex-87  Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. Sensing the situation, alert BSF troops immediately took position. At about 0305 hrs, Border Security Troops challenged them to stop but Pak smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of  grown wheat crop and darkness while Indian smuggler tried to escape and hid in the fields on Indian side. BSF troops immediately cordoned off the area and managed to apprehend Indian smuggler namely Balbir Singh s/o Sohan Singh, r/o Khalsa Nagar, Tarn Taran Road, Kot Meet Singh, Amritsar.

During search, BSF troops  recovered and seized 09 packets (approx. 9.450 Kgs) of contraband suspected to be heroin along with 01 Pistol (7.65 MM), 01 Magazine and 25 live rounds from his possession.  

In the second incident, on 14 March 2018, based on specific information, a special joint search operation was carried out by Border Security Force and STF (Special Task Force), Amritsar, Punjab Police in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post Kulwant, Ex-77 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur. During search, at about 1510 hrs, search party recovered 04 Packets (weight approx. 04 Kg) of contraband suspected to be heroin. Packets of contraband werefound buried in cultivated land between International Boundary and Border Security Fence. 

The enhanced vigil of BSF has once again thwarted the attempt of Anti-National Elements to push the consignment of Arms/Amn into India. During the year 2018, BSF  seized 76 KG Heroin valuing millions of rupees in international market.
