ONE BOOKED FOR ALLEGED BLASPHEMY OF SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB IN FEROZEPUR

The police has booked one person for alleged blasphemy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib at Village Suddan in Makhu block. As per the complaint lodged by Hardip Singh, the Granthi of the Gurdwara, the accused Balwinder Singh son of Munshi tampered with the “Rumala” (a square or rectangular piece of silk used to cover the Guru Granth Sahib in the Gurdwara ) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

In his complaint, Hardip said that yesterday evening, when he came to Gurdwara at around 5.00 pm for “Rehras” path (Evening prayer of the Sikhs), he found that the “Ruamalas” of Sri Granth Sahib were tempered. “During the checking of the CCTV footage, we identified the accused who is the resident of Village”, said Granthi Hardip.

Later a case under sections 295, 427 IPC was registered against the accused (Case number 58 dated 10.04.2018). The police has launched a manhunt to nab the fled accused.
