CBI REGISTERS CASE AGAINST TWO DIRECTORS OF A PRIVATE COMPANY & OTHERS AND CONDUCTS SEARCHES

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case on a complaint from Punjab National Bank against a New Delhi based Private Company & its Directors, and other unknown public servants/ private persons, u/s 120-B r/w 420, 467, 471 of IPC and 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, on the allegations of defrauding Punjab National Bank and other 05 banks (Central Bank of India, Andhra Bank, Syndicate Bank, Bank of Baroda and Oriental Bank of Commerce) of the consortium, to the tune of Rs. 187.29 crore (approx.).

It was alleged that the accused persons fraudulently & dishonestly removed and disposed the hypothecated stocks, and cheated the banks by submitting false & fabricated stock statements/ other documents.Searches were conducted today at the premises of the accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
