CRIME BRANCH POLICE ARRESTED FOUR ACCUSED SOLVING SEVERAL CASES OF ROBBERIES , SNATCHING

In a major breakthrough, Anti Homicide, Burglary & Other Heinous Crimes Cell of Crime Branch headed by Inspector Dalbir Singh under the close supervision of Sh. Ravi Kumar, IPS, W/SP/Crime and Sh. Amaro Singh, DSP/Crime arrested a gang of robbers, snatchers, vehicle lifters and drug peddler who were involved in the incidents of robbery, snatching, vehicle lifting and drug peddling in UT/Chandigarh. The  accused identified as Vikram @ Vicky s/o Darshan Singh r/o Village-Banse, PS-Mullanpur, District-Mohali, Punjab, age-23 yrs., Devinder Singh s/o Jaspal Singh r/o H.No. 108, Village-Rani Majra, PS-Mullanpur, District-Mohali, Punjab, age-19 yrs., Abhishek Chaudhary @ Avi @ Badri s/o Richhpal Singh r/o H.No. 251, Village-Dhanas, UT/Chandigarh, age-20 yrs. and Arun Kumar s/o Ved Parkash r/o H.No. 3253, Sector-44/D, Chandigarh, age-24 yrs.

Police sasid on on  17.04.2018, on a tip off, team of Anti Homicide, Burglary & Other Heinous Crimes Cell of Crime Branch headed by SI Gurmeet Singh laid a naka near Dhanas Lake, UT/Chandigarh and apprehended two accused namely Vikram @ Vicky and Devinder Singh while they were coming from Dhanas lake side on a motorcycle. During search of the both accused, one mobile phone make Micromax has been recovered from their possession. The recovered mobile found to be stolen in case FIR No. 53 dated 09.03.2018 u/s 379, 356, 34 IPC, PS-Sarangpur, UT/Chandigarh by the above said accused persons. Further, during the interrogation of these accused, it has been revealed that they are also involved in another case of vehicle theft i.e. Activa having registration No. CH04-F-2136.

On 20.04.2018, an accused namely Abhishek Chaudhary @ Avi @ Badri s/o Richhpal Singh r/o H.No. 251, Village-Dhanas, UT/Chandigarh, age-20 yrs has been arrested at a naka near Sector-14/25 road to Dhanas road turn laid by Anti Homicide, Burglary & Other Heinous Crimes Cell of Crime Branch headed by SI Shiv Charan while, accused was coming from Dhanas side. During search of accused, one mobile phone makes Oppo and a knife (Kamanidar knife) has been recovered from his possession.

The recovered mobile phone found robbed in case FIR No. 105 dated 19.04.2018 u/s 392, 411 IPC, PS-Sarangpur, UT/Chandigarh by the above said accused. Accused Abhishek robbed this mobile phone from the complainant Vipin Kumar s/o Raj Kumar resident of Dhanas, Chandigarh at Dhanas Lake on 19.04.2018 by threatening/showing him Kamanidar Knife. Further, during the course of investigation, two cases, one of snatching of mobile phone and one of vehicle theft of Hero Splender Motor Cycle also worked out by recovering stolen property from the possession of accused Abhishek. 

In an another incident, on 18.04.2018, while a team of Anti Homicide, Burglary & Other Heinous Crimes Cell of Crime Branch lead by SI Desh Raj was on patrolling duty in market, Sector-44/D, Chandigarh, the team apprehended one accused namely Arun Kumar s/o Ved Parkash r/o H.No. 3253, Sector-44/D, Chandigarh and recovered 21 gms Heroin from his possession without any license and permit. In this regard, case FIR No. 140 dated 18.04.2018 u/s 21 NDPS Act, PS-34, Chandigarh has been registered against the accused.

      With the arrest of the above accused persons, the following 06 cases have been solved out:-

Modus Operandi

The modus operandi of accused Abhishek is that he used to Kamanidar Knife for robbing the victims. All the arrested accused are drug addicts and in order to fulfil their drug requirement, they robbed, snatched and lifting the vehicles in the jurisdiction of UT/Chandigarh, so that they can get the money from the stolen items.  

Accused Vikram @ Vicky, Devinder Singh, Arun Kumar have been produced before Hon’ble District Court and sent to judicial custody and accused Abhishek Chaudhary is on 02 days police remand and will be produced before Hon’ble District Court on 23.04.2018. Investigation is going on and some more recoveries are likely to be effected.
