The Department of Evening Studies – Multi Disciplinary Research Centre, the largest and most vibrant department of Panjab University has organized its thrilling annual event; Annual Cultural Function-2018 at University Auditorium with the coordination of Students’ Central Association: DES-MDRC.

 The vivid cultural evening comprised of ten chirpy events including group dance, fusion dance, songs, Ladakhi, Haryanavi, Himachali and Garhwali dance etc. performed by sixty students under the active supervision of the members of cultural committee.

The function was spread over three cheerful hours and attended by around eight hundred students in the jam-packed auditorium. Prof. Immanuel Nahar, Dean of Student Welfare, PU was the Chief Guest while graced the function as Chief. The Department honours Dr. Sanjiv Kumar as Student of the year who selected as PCS officer and also became first Ph.D. degree holder student of the Department.

The function was started with religious song followed by lighting of Shama of knowledge and Prof. Gurpreet Kaur Gill, the convener of cultural committee has explained the details of the function whereas Prof. Gurpal Singh, Chairperson of the Department welcome the guests.

The large no. of students who have achieved gold medals in sports and academic field along with the participants of cultural events was honoured by the department. At the end of the function the vote of thanks was given by Prof. Neeraj Jain and the students has enjoyed in magnificent performance and breathtaking beats of Jindua.
