Now in Haryana, three Sub-Inspectors (female) would be appointed in each Woman Police Station to further strengthening the functioning of these police stations in the state. Besides, woman helpline number 1091 would be linked with Centralised monitoring system so as to ensure its monitoring at the level of police headquarters. This will help in providing immediate assistance to the women in the light of any untoward incident.

This was disclosed by Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu after presiding over a meeting with Supervisory Officers and SHOs of all Woman Police Stations, today. 

He said that process for recruitment of 73 female Sub-Inspectors has already been started. After its completion, these police officers would be appointed in women police stations. Apart from 400 male Sub Inspectors, process to recruit 7000 constable including 1000 female is also going on, he added. 

In reply to a question, Mr Sandhu said that a committee of senior police officers would soon be constituted to review the working system of women police stations in the state. 

On being asked to comment on the proposed Jat reservation agitation in Jassia on June 2, the DGP said that everyone in the democracy has a right to say his word in a peaceful manner. At the same time, Haryana Police is fully capable to maintain law and order in the state. 

In reply to yet another question concerning Inter-state Crime Control, he said that a meeting to this effect was convened recently with the states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi. We hope to get fruitful results very soon, he added. 

Director General Hqrs, Mr K.K. Mishra, Additional Director General of Police Crime, Mr P.K. Aggarwal, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Mr Mohd. Akil, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order), Mr A.S. Chawla, other senior officers, 28 SHOs of Woman Police Stations and 25 Supervisory Officers were also present in the meeting.
