Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday condoled the sad demise of former judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice (Retd) J S Narang, who passed away at a private hospital in Mohali this afternoon after a brief illness. Justice Narang (73) is survived by his wife Raminder Narang and two sons Amitjit Narang and Ripjit Narang.

 Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, Captain Amarinder Singh said that Justice Narang was an eminent legal luminary, an able administrator, a distinguished jurist and above all a fine human being with the qualities of head and heart. The Chief Minister further said that with the death ofJustice Narang a void has been created in the legal fraternity, which is difficult to be filled in near future.

The Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give enough strength to the family members, relatives and friends to bear this irreparable loss in this hour of grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

Pertinently, Captain Amarinder Singh had constituted Commission of Enquiry headed by Justice Narang to probe into alleged irregularities in sand mining auctions in the state.

According to the family sources the cremation of Justice Narang would take place on May 28 (Monday) at 4:30 pm here in electric crematorium, Sector 25.

It may be recalled  that Justice Narang was appointed to probe allegation of irregularities in the sand mining auctions and later submitted report to CM.
