HARYANA NEWS: GOVT. TO PROVIDE SaNITARY NAPKINS TO GIRL STUDENTS OF GOVT. SCHOOLS AT RS. ONE PER PACKET

The girl students of government schools will start getting sanitary napkins In Haryana by August this year at a service charge of Rs one per packet. The same will also be provided to women belonging to Below Poverty Line families by that time at same charges.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting presided over by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal with senior functionaries of School Education Department and Health Department, here today.The Chief Minister said that girls till the age of 18 years would be provided with sanitary napkins in schools, while women over 18 years of age would be provided through Public Distribution System at ration shops every month. A service charge of Re one per packet would be charged on sanitary napkins. 

A survey conducted in this regard has revealed that only 28 per cent of girls use sanitary napkins and 40 per cent of women use cloth, which lead to hygiene issues and many diseases. This move of the state government would provide big relief to school girls and women in maintaining hygiene.

 CM TO INTERACT DIRECTLY WITH YOUTHS

Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal will interact directly with the youths who got employment during the tenure of the present government at Tagore Auditorium, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak on June 3. While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that the chief minister would have word with youths and know their reactions on getting employment.

REGIONAL WORKSHOP ON NATIONAL NUTRITION MISSION

A Regional workshop on National Nutrition Mission, also known as Poshan Abhiyaan and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandna Yojana (PMMVY), involving the states of Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory, Chandigarh was held in the PGIMER Auditorium here, to deliberate upon key nutrition strategies and interventions to address the issue of malnutrition.The workshop, attended by Secretary, Joint Secretary, Principal Secretaries and Directors of WDC Department and representatives from Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh, had five different sessions where eminent speakers from various fields spoke.

TREASURIES INTEGRATED WITH PUBLIC FINANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM 

Treasuries in Haryana have been integrated with the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) under which the expenditure incurred is directly reported online to Central ministries. All implementing agencies of departments, boards and corporations have been directed to register themselves on PFMS.

Giving this information here today, an official spokesman said a certificate from State Project Management Unit as regards completion of registration of parent and child agencies and implementation of Expenditure Advance and Transfer (EAT) Module or Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Module should be submitted to the Finance Department by end of June, 2018. Otherwise, no funds would be released during the remainder of the financial year 2018-19 from July onwards.

INDUSTRIES DEPTT.INVITES APP;ICABLE FROM ELIGIBLE ARTTSTS

Haryana Industries and Commerce Department has invited applications from eligible artists for the selection of State Handicrafts Awards-2017 in painting, Terracotta, clay objects, stone and marble, embroidery and textile, wood and bamboo, metal, leather, handloom, jute, wax and lakh and miscellaneous, including one award for woman artisans in each category.While giving this information, a spokesman of Industries and Commerce department said that the Handicraft Awards would be granted to the artisans, craftpersons, weavers of the state, having resident proof that is Voter Card or Ration Card or Aadhar Card or domicile certificate and are engaged in manufacturing in these sectors or segments. The artisans should be registered with Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Government of India, he added.

 He said that the State Handicraft Award would carry prize money of Rs 3 lakh, Outstanding Woman Artisan Award Rs 3 lakh and twelve consolations prizes carrying prize money of Rs 51,000 each would be given to the Artisans on merit. One consolation prize would be given in each category.
