HARYANA DGP DIRECTS POLICE OFFICERS TO ENSURE STRICT SECURITY ARRANGEMENT DURING GAON BANDH PROTEST

Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B. S. Sandhu today held a video-conference with senior police functionaries including Commissioners of Police and district SPs and directed them to ensure maximum deployment of police force in their respective areas in view of the ongoing Gaon Bandh protest of Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh.

Reviewing the arrangements put in place to maintain law and order, Mr Sandhu directed them to ensure that supply of essential commodities and amenities does not get disrupted under any circumstance. Besides this, it should be ensured that there is free movement of traffic. Police should make sure that all national and state highways remain open.

Giving direction for ensuring complete coordination with civil administration, the DGP instructed police officers to remain alert and cautious and do not allow any anti social element to create any law and order situation. Nobody should be allowed to take law in their hands. Strict legal action should be taken against those who indulge in any kind of arson or violence etc.

Mr Sandhu also instructed the police officers to show more sensitivity towards crime against women, particularly when it involves minor girls. Police officers at all ranks should take such cases with utmost seriousness. He also briefed them about the recent Ordinance passed by the Central Government on April 21, 2018. Police officials must ensure strict compliance of the provisions of the Ordinance, he added.

He also reviewed the arrangements put in place during ongoing protest of Jat Mahasabha at Jassia with a view to ensure peace throughout the State.

Director General of Police, HQ, Mr K.K. Mishra, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Mohd. Akil, Additional Director General of Police Mr A. S. Chawla, IGP/CID Mr Anil Rao were also present during the video conference.
