DAV POLICE PUBLIC SCHOOLS SHOWN EXCELLENT RESULTS IN CLASS X AND CLASS XII EXAMS, SAYS DGP SANDHU

Haryana Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu said that DAV Police Public Schools have shown excellent performance in Class X and XII exam results as compared to results of Haryana Board and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which were declared recently.

While congratulating the students, parents and staff members, Mr Sandhu said that pass percentage of class X in Police Public School was 99.61 as compared to 51.15 per cent of Haryana Board and 86.70 per cent of CBSE. Out of the total, 526 students appeared in exam from Ambala, Hisar, Panipat, Madhuban, Kurukshetra and Bhondsi, as many as 49 students have achieved above 90 per cent marks.

He said that similarly 423 students appeared for XII exams, have brought glory to the Police public partnership by achieving pass percentage of 96.69, which is 32.85 per cent and 13.68 per cent higher as compared to the results of Haryana Board and CBSE, respectively. Out of the total, 24 students have got above 90 per cent marks, putting the pass percentage at 96.69. The pass percentage in Haryana Board and CBSE remains 63.84 and 83.01, respectively.

Expressing great satisfaction over the results, the DGP said it is heartening to note that with the consistent efforts of the DAV managing committee including teachers and non-teaching staff on one hand and the students and parents on the other, there has been encouraging and visible improvement in the educational standards of DAV Police Public Schools since their formation. Police Department in consultation with DAV management would continue to focus on lifting the quality of learning in these schools that would help in making a greater impact on academic performance in future also.

He said that first such school was started at Ambala in the year 1996 but at present these schools are functional in all the districts of the State with a total strength of 15,942 students. These temples of learning are a fine example of police-public partnership, he added. Mr Sandhu said that Haryana Police is not only committed to the safety and security of the people and property of the State, but has also taken a number of initiatives for the welfare of the people. One such initiative is the chain of 22 DAV Police Public Schools. Apart from their expansion, all these schools would be upgraded as per requirement in the future.
