FEROZEPORE: THREE PERSONS LOST LIVES DUE TO ASPHYXIATION, FOURTH BATTLING FOR LIFE

PUNJAB POLICE CONSTABLE LACHHMAN  LOST HIS LIFE WHILE SAVING OTHERS

Three persons were asphyxiated while the fourth is also battling for life after inhaling poisonous gases inside a manhole they were cleaning in Police lines in Ferozepur. 

As per information available, the deceased have been identified as Ravi Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Lachhman. The condition of the fourth person identified as Balvir is also reportedly critical. It is pertinent to mention here that Lachhman was a constable in Punjab police (Belt No. 361) and he lost his life in an effort to save others.

The incident took place on Sunday evening when two workers Ravi Kumar and Krishan, who were cleaning the manhole, lost their conscience. The third worker Balvir went inside the manhole to save them but he also lost his conscience. When Punjab Police constable Lachhman saw the incident he also jumped inside but lost his life in effort to save Ravi, Krishan and Balvir.

They were brought out of the manhole with the help of fire brigade. As soon as the news was spread senior police officials reached the spot.

After All of them were immediately sent to civil hospital Ferozepur where three of them were declared brought dead. As per information the condition of the fourth person Balvir is also critical.

A pall of gloom descended entire police line after the incident. Jaspal Singh, DSP (Rural) termed the incident very unfortunate
